Installation
The BioCompact® unit is placed on a compacted foundation, but a slab of concrete may be better in certain applications. After connecting the unit to influent and effluent pipes and to a source of power, it is ready for operation.
Maintenance
Ordinary maintenance includes a bimonthly check of the activated sludge’s concentration and a monthly cleaning of the sensors. Sand, excess sludge, and collected items (fibrous materials, plastic, rubber items, etc.) must be removed regularly. The frequency of discarding this waste largely depends on the influent quality, and thus, on the population relying on the treatment system.
